The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is organizing the Singapore Maritime Week (SMW) for its 18th edition from 15 to 19 April 2024 at the Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event will host over 50 events and is themed ‘Actions meet Ambition’. The event will revolve around four pillars – decarbonization, digitalization, services, and talent development. Over 10,000 maritime professionals from almost 40 countries, including government delegates, port authorities, international organizations, industry experts, and thought leaders, are expected to attend SMW. Furthermore, the Expo@SMW trade exhibition will take place from 16 – 18 April 2024, showcasing maritime solutions by almost 50 companies and startups as part of SMW 2024.
SMW 2024 was unveiled by Mr Chee Hong Tat, Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, during the Opening Ceremony. In his speech, Mr Chee emphasized that the maritime industry in Singapore has been expanding every year, which is a testament to the industry’s confidence in Singapore as well as the strong relationship between the government, business, and workers. Mr Chee also stated that Singapore intends to become a global centre for innovation, reliable and resilient marine operations, and maritime expertise to better serve the current and future demands of stakeholders while also supporting global development and sustainability goals.
