A New Aquaculture Model Has Been Successfully Created for This Intelligent Deep-sea Aquaculture Platform
Intelligent Deep-sea Aquaculture: Exploring the Next Frontier
Recently, the semi-submersible trussed wind and wave-resistant deep-sea aquaculture platform, “Gesheng No.1,” was successfully launched. This project, surveyed by the China Classification Society (CCS), designed by Zhuhai Gree Sheng Technology Co., Ltd., and constructed by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., had Wu Gang, Deputy Director of the Classification Department of CCS Guangzhou Branch, attending the launch ceremony.
The “Gesheng No.1” platform measures 86 meters in length, 32 meters in width, and 16.5 meters in height, with a working draft of 10.5 meters and an aquaculture water volume exceeding 30,000 cubic meters. Designed with modern fishery production concepts, it boasts advanced systems for green and clean energy power generation, network communication, feed storage and refrigeration, UAV automatic feeding, environmental monitoring, and underwater video surveillance.
Once completed, the platform will be stationed in the northern sea area of Zhuhai Guishan Xiaoshizhou Island to support the aquaculture of high-value fish species such as tuna, octopus, grouper, and catfish. Additionally, it will help establish a new model for intelligent deep-sea aquaculture through its environmental monitoring, data collection and analysis, network transmission, and 5G communication systems. This initiative is a significant step towards the commercial practice of building a blue granary in Zhuhai.
Throughout the construction of the “Gesheng No.1” platform, CCS Guangzhou Branch collaborated closely with the shipyard and the owner to ensure steady progress and quality, successfully meeting the planned milestones and earning high praise from both the shipyard and the owner.
Following its launch, the platform will undergo mooring, tilting tests, diving tests, and more at the shipyard wharf. CCS Guangzhou Branch remains committed to its service objectives of safety, environmental protection, and creating value for clients and society. The branch will continue working with all parties to ensure the platform is completed and delivered on time with high quality, contributing to the national marine power strategy and the development of the new marine economy.
