Precious Shipping fixes handy bulker to Oldendorff

Precious Shipping Secures Charter Deal with Oldendorff Carriers for Recently Acquired Handysize Vessel

Precious Shipping, a prominent Thai dry bulk shipping company, has recently entered into a charter agreement with Germany’s Oldendorff Carriers for one of its newly acquired vessels. The 2018-built handysize vessel, now named Hansa Naree, has been chartered for a period ranging between 11 and 13 months. The charter began at a variable rate set at 112% of the Baltic Exchange Handysize Index’s weighted time charter average over the past 15 days, currently equating to approximately $15,000 per day.

The vessel, with a deadweight tonnage of 39,989 dwt, was acquired by Precious Shipping in February under the name Interlink Amenity for a price of $25.5 million. It is noteworthy that the ship had already been operating under charter with Oldendorff Carriers before its acquisition by Precious Shipping.

Precious Shipping, led by Khalid Hashim, manages a fleet of over 40 ships, including four recently commissioned ultramax newbuilds. The company is also reportedly involved in a potential deal with Japan’s Nisshin Shipping for four 2015-built handysize vessels, estimated to be worth around $78 million.
