TechnipFMC, a global company that works on large offshore projects, has won two important contracts from Petrobras, a state-owned oil and gas company in Brazil. These contracts are for work on Brazil’s pre-salt fields, which are located offshore, deep under the ocean floor.
First Contract: Flexible Pipe Design and Services The first contract is a big one for TechnipFMC. The company will design, create, and manufacture something called “riser flexible pipe.” This special pipe is very important for getting oil and gas from deep below the ocean. TechnipFMC will also offer services like packing and storing these pipes.
Although the exact price of the contract has not been made public, TechnipFMC says that contracts of this size are usually worth between $250 million and $500 million. This work will be added to the company’s orders for the third quarter of 2024.

Second Contract: Subsea Production Systems The second contract is also important and was won after a competitive bidding process. TechnipFMC will design, engineer, and manufacture equipment to help get oil and gas from under the sea. This equipment will be used in several projects, including Atapu 2, Sepia 2, and Roncador.
This contract also includes help with installing the equipment and providing services throughout the life of the project. There is also an option for extra equipment and services if needed.
All the equipment and products for this project will be made and maintained in Brazil. This shows TechnipFMC’s ability to keep working on Brazil’s pre-salt oil reserves. The second contract is valued at between $75 million and $250 million and will also be part of the company’s orders for this quarter.
Company Leadership Jonathan Landes, president of subsea at TechnipFMC, said, “These awards show that we are leaders in flexible pipe technology. Our equipment has already been successful in projects like Buzios 6-9, and we are happy to continue working with Petrobras.”
These two contracts prove that TechnipFMC is a strong company in the offshore oil and gas industry, especially when it comes to deep-sea projects in Brazil.
