Meratus adds more feeders at Guangxi Shipbuilding

Meratus Expands Fleet with New Ship Orders

Indonesian logistics giant Meratus is set to bolster its fleet through new feeder vessel orders from CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering in China. This strategic move, aimed at enhancing its shipping capabilities, will see the delivery of new vessels by 2027. While the financial details of the order remain undisclosed, this initiative follows the successful addition of similar vessels, including the recently launched Meratus Kumai and Meratus Kutai.

Fleet Expansion with Proven Partnerships

Meratus, a well-established name in Indonesia’s shipping industry since its founding in 1957, has a long-standing relationship with CSSC Guangxi Shipbuilding. The company has consistently turned to this yard for its feeder vessels, showcasing a reliable partnership that has yielded significant results. The latest newbuilds will adhere to the same trusted design as earlier models, measuring approximately 124 meters in length and classified by Italy’s RINA. These vessels primarily operate within Indonesian waters, enhancing the company’s capacity to service feeder routes connecting key regional markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, East Timor, and Papua New Guinea.
