PaxOcean Delivers Third Eco-Advanced Feeder Ship

PaxOcean Zhoushan has successfully delivered the Martta, the latest addition to a series of eco-advanced container feeder ships for Finland’s Langh Ship. The vessel was officially named during a ceremony held on September 12, attended by key representatives from both companies. This delivery marks the completion of a three-ship program that includes the previously launched Ingrid and Lene.
Innovative Technology for Emission Reduction
The Martta, along with its sister ships, is equipped with Langh Tech’s hybrid scrubber and is prepared for an onboard carbon capture system. These advanced technologies are designed to reduce CO₂ emissions by as much as 50 percent. By commissioning this series of vessels with integrated scrubber and carbon capture systems, Langh Ship is taking significant steps toward achieving net-zero emissions. This initiative showcases how ship owners can exceed regulatory compliance and actively contribute to environmental sustainability.
PaxOcean’s commitment to delivering these technologically advanced vessels on time and to specification underscores its role in the maritime industry’s transition to greener practices. Mrs. Laura Langh-Lagerlöf, CEO of Langh Ship, expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “With this vessel series, we had a vision of pushing energy efficiency and emission reduction further than before. PaxOcean Shipyard has been a valuable partner in achieving this, resulting in technologically advanced vessels that enhance our fleet.”
Partnerships Driving Decarbonization Efforts
The successful completion of this series reflects not just a triumph in shipbuilding but also a commitment to decarbonization. Mr. Tan Thai Yong, Managing Director and CEO of PaxOcean Group, emphasized the importance of collaboration in this journey. He stated, “The completion of this series shows that when owners commit to decarbonization, PaxOcean can be a trusted partner to turn ambition into operational reality.”
This partnership between PaxOcean and Langh Ship highlights that meaningful progress toward decarbonization is achievable through proven solutions, consistent application, and strong collaboration. As the Martta prepares to join its sister ships in operation, both companies are poised to make a significant impact on the shipping industry’s environmental footprint.
