Great Eastern Shipping takes delivery of 2015-built Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier “Jag Amol”

G E Shipping Expands Fleet with New Acquisition

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) has announced the delivery of a new Kamsarmax Dry Bulk Carrier named Jag Amol, which was built in 2015 and has a capacity of approximately 81,843 deadweight tons (dwt). This acquisition, fully financed through internal resources, is part of the company’s ongoing strategy to enhance its fleet. Following this addition, G E Shipping’s owned fleet now consists of 39 vessels, including a diverse range of tankers and dry bulk carriers.

Strategic Fleet Expansion

With the delivery of Jag Amol, G E Shipping’s fleet has reached a total of 39 vessels. This includes 26 tankers, which are further categorized into five crude carriers, 17 product tankers, and four LPG carriers, alongside 13 dry bulk carriers. The total capacity of the fleet now stands at 3.13 million dwt, reflecting the company’s commitment to maintaining a robust presence in the maritime industry.

Great Eastern Shipping gets rid of 19-year-old suezmax

In addition to the recent acquisition, G E Shipping has also contracted to purchase one secondhand Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier and one secondhand Suezmax crude tanker during the second quarter of FY26. The company is simultaneously in the process of selling one secondhand Suezmax crude tanker. These transactions are anticipated to be finalized by the third quarter of FY26, further diversifying and strengthening the company’s operational capabilities.

This strategic move aligns with G E Shipping’s goal of optimizing its fleet to ensure operational scale and flexibility across global trade routes. By enhancing its fleet composition, the company aims to better serve its clients and adapt to the evolving demands of the shipping industry.
