Capital-Executive Ship Management Forms Strategic Alliance with Axis Maritime
Capital-Executive Ship Management Corp has announced a strategic partnership with Axis Maritime Corp, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) led by Nicholas Madias. This collaboration will result in the rebranding of Capital-Executive as Capital Axis Maritime Corp. The announcement was made in Athens, marking a significant step in enhancing their operational capabilities in the dry bulk shipping sector.
The newly formed Capital Axis Maritime Corp will focus on the in-house commercial and technical management of a substantial dry bulk fleet. This fleet will consist of 20 dry bulk carriers, boasting a combined capacity of approximately 3 million deadweight tons (dwt) and an average vessel age of eight years. The fleet includes two Newcastlemax vessels, four Capesize ships, seven Kamsarmax and Panamax vessels currently in operation, along with seven Capesize newbuildings scheduled for delivery in 2027.

Nicholas Madias will take on the role of president and chief executive of Capital Axis Maritime Corp. He expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the potential for long-term value creation through enhanced cost efficiencies and revenue growth. Madias emphasized that the collaboration combines Capital-Executive Ship Management’s strengths with Axis Maritime’s extensive experience in the dry bulk sector, which spans over 25 years in ownership and hands-on management of dry bulk assets.
