Great Eastern Shipping Delivers Key Vessel, Expands Fleet

Great Eastern Shipping Company made headlines on Friday as it announced the successful delivery of its Kamsarmax dry bulk carrier, “Jag Aarati,” to its new owners. This transaction, part of a deal finalized in the third quarter of FY26, reflects the company’s ongoing strategy to optimize its fleet. Following this delivery, the company’s owned fleet now comprises 39 vessels, including tankers and dry bulk carriers.

Fleet Composition and Future Plans

With the recent delivery of “Jag Aarati,” Great Eastern Shipping’s fleet now consists of 39 vessels, which includes 26 tankers and 13 dry bulk carriers. The total capacity of the fleet stands at an impressive 3.14 million deadweight tonnes (dwt). The tanker segment features a diverse range of vessels, including crude, product, and LPG carriers. Meanwhile, the dry bulk fleet is made up of Capesize, Kamsarmax, and Supramax vessels, showcasing the company’s versatility in maritime logistics.

Looking ahead, Great Eastern Shipping has outlined several strategic actions for the fourth quarter of FY26. The company plans to acquire one secondhand Ultramax dry bulk carrier and one secondhand medium-range tanker. Additionally, it intends to sell its very large gas carrier, “Jag Vishnu.” These moves are part of the company’s broader strategy to optimize its asset portfolio, ensuring it remains competitive in the evolving shipping market. The recent delivery and upcoming transactions underscore Great Eastern Shipping’s commitment to active fleet management and its focus on aligning its assets with market demands.
