Sailboat Sinks Off Mallorca Coast

The nine-meter-long sailboat named “Valent Segundo” sank early in the morning on March 5, 2026, off the coast of Palmanova in Calvià, Mallorca. The situation was reported to emergency services after a citizen noticed that the stern of the yacht was partially submerged. The emergency call was made around 8:55 a.m. to the emergency number 112.

In response, the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) of Salvamento Marítimo in Palma de Mallorca dispatched the rescue vessel ‘Salvamar Libertas’ to the scene. Upon arrival, the crew found that no one was aboard the yacht. They attempted to keep the “Valent Segundo” afloat using a motor pump, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Despite their best attempts, the sailboat ultimately sank.
