SEOUL, April 20 (Yonhap) — HD Construction Equipment Co. has announced a significant contract to supply 264 power-generating engines to the Portuguese generator manufacturer, Grupel. This agreement, which includes the small-sized G2 engines, comes at a time when demand for mobile power generators is surging across Europe, driven by the need to replace aging equipment and comply with stricter emissions regulations. The European diesel generator market is projected to grow significantly, with a compound annual growth rate of 4.18 percent, reaching an estimated 7 trillion won by 2031, up from 5.7 trillion won in 2026, according to market research firm Mordor Intelligence. This growth is fueled by the increasing need for reliable mobile power solutions and the replacement of older equipment that does not meet new environmental regulations. In light of this trend, HD Construction Equipment has set an ambitious target of achieving 770 billion won (approximately US$520 million) in global power-generating engine sales, more than doubling its projected sales of 370 billion won by 2025.
