Additionally, Sunil Marawi, the manager of Hotel McL Resort and Boat Club Bargi, has been suspended for negligence in his duties.
The regional manager, Sanjay Malhotra, has been reassigned to headquarters as part of the ongoing investigation. The Chief Minister expressed his condolences to the victims’ families and emphasized the government’s commitment to providing necessary support. Survivors of the cruise tragedy have come forward with alarming allegations regarding safety lapses and negligence by the crew. One survivor recounted the harrowing experience, stating that he lost his wife and son in the incident. He described how the cruise staff failed to provide life jackets, forcing passengers to scramble for safety equipment themselves. Another survivor, Sangeeta Kori from Delhi, claimed that passengers were not instructed to wear life jackets before departure, leading to chaos when the vessel began to take on water.
Witnesses reported that locals had warned the cruise operator about deteriorating weather conditions, urging him to steer the vessel to safety. Despite these warnings, the cruise continued on its course until it capsized due to strong winds and rising waves.
