DSIC Delivers First Second-Generation 175,000 cbm LNG Carrier to China Merchants Energy Shipping
On July 24, CSSC Dalian Shipbuilding Industry co.,ltd. (DSIC) and China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC) joined forces to unveil the first vessel in a series of second-generation 175,000 cbm LNG carriers for China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES).
State-of-the-Art Technology
Named the “Sea Energy,” the vessel, developed independently by DSIC, boasts the cutting-edge Mark III Flex cargo containment system. It also features dual-fuel main engines and generators, conventional fuel oil boilers, a cargo handling system, and a reliquefaction unit. By incorporating technological advancements and process upgrades, the “Sea Energy” has optimized its hull form, propeller, and energy-saving devices to strike a perfect balance between economy, flexibility, and compatibility, enabling it to dock at most major LNG terminals worldwide.
