HCM City hosts two exhibitions, connecting businesses in oil and gas, energy
Ho Chi Minh City was the bustling hub for two significant industry exhibitions held from October 21–23, 2026. The events brought together a diverse array of businesses from the oil and gas, energy, maritime, shipbuilding, and offshore sectors.
OGAV 2026 and VIMOX 2026 Showcases Innovation and Collaboration
The 2026 Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry Machinery, Equipment and Technology Exhibition (OGAV 2026) and the 2026 Vietnam Maritime and Shipbuilding Exhibition (VIMOX 2026) served as a vital platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies, exploring new business prospects, and fostering collaboration among both local and international companies.
Seminar Focuses on Enhancing Vietnam’s Maritime Competitiveness
Within the framework of VIMOX 2026, the Vietnam Shipowners’ Association organized a seminar themed “Enhancing the Competitiveness of Vietnam’s Fleet in the Era of Green and Digital Transformation.” The discussions centered on the opportunities and challenges confronting Vietnam’s shipping industry, including the need to adhere to stringent environmental standards, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, embrace technological advancements, and integrate digitalization in maritime transportation.
The seminar witnessed the convergence of local and international experts and industry players, facilitating the exchange of experiences and the deliberation of practical solutions for the sustainable advancement of Vietnam’s maritime sector.
VIMOX 2026 also underscored Vietnam’s burgeoning shipbuilding capabilities. Recent maritime and shipbuilding market research conducted by UK-based Clarksons Research revealed that Vietnam delivered a total of 720,884 gross tonnes (GT) of newly constructed commercial vessels in 2024, representing approximately 1.01% of the global output and securing the fourth position worldwide.
In the subsequent year, 2025, Vietnam’s deliveries surged to 877,576 GT, constituting around 1.1% of the global production. Furthermore, Vietnam successfully secured shipbuilding orders totaling approximately 2 million GT in 2025, clinching the fourth spot globally, trailing behind industry giants such as China, South Korea, and Japan.
These exhibitions and seminars not only highlight Vietnam’s growing influence in the maritime and shipbuilding sectors but also signify the country’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration in these critical industries.
