Adani Ports Plans New Cargo Terminal at Kandla Port
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has signed a 30-year agreement with the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) to build a new multipurpose cargo terminal at Kandla Port. This terminal will be located at Berth No. 13 and is expected to start operating by 2027. The new terminal will help manage various types of cargo and make Kandla Port even more important for trade.
The company in charge of running this new terminal will be DPA Container and Clean Cargo Terminal Limited (DPACCCTL), a fully owned subsidiary. The terminal will have the capacity to handle around 5.7 million tonnes of cargo every year. This is a big step forward in increasing the port’s ability to manage different types of cargo.
The terminal will be 300 meters long, providing space for ships to load and unload goods. Adani Ports already manages dry bulk cargo at Kandla, but this new terminal will allow them to handle even more types of goods, including clean cargo. This will make the port more efficient and able to serve customers from Gujarat and northern India.

Aswan Gupta, the Director and CEO of APSEZ, said, “We will now be able to handle clean cargo along with the dry bulk cargo that we already manage. This will strengthen our position on India’s western coast and help us serve customers better in Gujarat and north India.”
This project will make Kandla Port a key player in trade, improving services for the region and helping India’s economy grow.
