ADSB, ASRY aim to collaborate on production of naval vessels

ADSB and ASRY Forge Maritime Partnership

Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY). This collaboration aims to enhance the design and construction of naval auxiliary vessels and port crafts. The agreement was formalized during the Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (Navdex) 2025 in Abu Dhabi. Both companies are leaders in their respective fields, with ADSB specializing in naval vessel design and ASRY excelling in maritime repair and maintenance.

Strengthening Regional Maritime Capabilities

The MoU was signed by David Massey, CEO of ADSB, and Dr. Ahmed Al Abri, CEO of ASRY. The signing was witnessed by notable figures, including Shaikh Mohamed bin Rashed AlKhalifa, Deputy CEO of ASRY, and Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director & CEO of EDGE. This partnership will establish a joint committee to evaluate the feasibility of various projects, ensuring that both entities can effectively leverage their strengths.

David Massey emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, “This MoU marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration within the region’s maritime industry.” He highlighted that combining ADSB’s expertise in naval vessel design with ASRY’s repair capabilities will lead to world-class solutions tailored to the evolving needs of customers. This collaboration is expected to enhance the sovereign capabilities of the region’s maritime sector.

Dr. Al Abri echoed these sentiments, expressing excitement about the partnership. He noted that the agreement reflects a shared vision to explore new opportunities in naval auxiliary vessels and port craft projects. Both companies are committed to advancing the maritime industry in the Arabian Gulf, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of innovation and excellence.

Visitors to Navdex 2025 can view ADSB’s extensive portfolio of products and services at Stand B-022 and the dock-edge area at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) until February 21. This event serves as a platform for showcasing advancements in maritime technology and collaboration.
