Babcock showcases immersive training platform to emergency services
Innovative Training Platform Showcased to UK Emergency Services
In a recent event in Ruislip, London, a new training technology called the Babcock Immersive Training Experience (BITE) was presented to various UK emergency services. This advanced platform is designed to quickly prepare military and civil teams for challenging environments. BITE offers an interactive and immersive training experience that simulates real-world situations, making it a valuable tool for emergency responders.
The BITE system is particularly effective in recreating the physical, sensory, and cognitive demands of operating in urban environments. It provides a bridge between traditional classroom learning and real-world operations, helping trainees adapt quickly to high-pressure scenarios. During the demonstration, a scenario was created involving an electric vehicle fire in a tunnel, showcasing how BITE can simulate complex, multi-agency responses in a safe and controlled setting.

The platform’s ability to collect and analyze data from training sessions allows for immediate feedback and improvement, making it a versatile tool for emergency services. Jo Rayson, Managing Director of Babcock’s training business, highlighted BITE’s adaptability and effectiveness in preparing personnel for any situation, emphasizing its potential to benefit both military and civilian emergency teams.
