Bureau Veritas grants AiP to H-DEUX FlexiCapture onboard carbon capture concept
Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) has recently completed a Level 1 Approval in Principle (AiP) assessment of H-DEUX’s innovative FlexiCapture concept. This modular onboard carbon capture solution is designed to effectively capture carbon dioxide (CO₂) from marine engine exhaust gases, marking a significant advancement in environmental sustainability within the maritime industry.
Revolutionizing Carbon Capture at Sea
Developed by H-DEUX, FlexiCapture utilizes a solid-sorbent adsorption process, where fixed-bed reactors cyclically operate between CO₂ capture and regeneration phases. During the capture phase, conditioned exhaust gas flows through a reactor, selectively adsorbing CO₂. Simultaneously, regeneration occurs using waste heat recovered from the engine exhaust, ensuring continuous treatment of the exhaust gas stream.
