Carnival Festivale Crew Cabins Completed Ahead of Schedule
The construction of the Carnival Festivale, Carnival Cruise Line’s fourth Excel Class ship, has reached a significant milestone with the completion of all 949 crew cabins. This achievement comes as the ship prepares for its debut in May 2027. Following this development, the focus will now shift to the construction of guest staterooms, which will add to the ship’s impressive capacity of 3,585 accommodations for crew and guests.
Completion of Crew Cabins Marks Key Milestone
This week, Meyer Werft and EMS PreCab announced the successful completion of the crew cabins for the Carnival Festivale, a project that took 25 weeks to finalize. EMS PreCab, a specialist in cruise ship cabins, shared their excitement on social media, stating, “After 25 weeks, we at EMS PreCab have successfully completed the production of the 949 crew cabins for the Carnival Festivale.” These cabins are now stored in a warehouse, awaiting installation on the ship, which is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.
The crew cabins are designed with functionality in mind, featuring ample storage, soothing neutral wood tones, and convenient charging stations. EMS PreCab expressed satisfaction with the quality achieved in the Carnival series, indicating a commitment to high standards in cruise ship accommodations. The warehouse where the cabins are stored offers a glimpse into the future layout of the ship, with rows of cabins stacked high, resembling the final arrangement onboard.
First Block Laid on New Carnival Cruise Ship, Carnival Festivale
Once completed, the Carnival Festivale will accommodate over 1,700 international crew members, ensuring a well-supported experience for guests. The ship, which boasts a gross tonnage of 182,800, is set to become a floating resort, offering a variety of amenities and services to enhance the cruising experience.
Next Steps: Guest Stateroom Construction Begins
With the crew cabins finished, attention now turns to the construction of guest staterooms. EMS PreCab confirmed, “We are proud of our team, which has thus successfully completed the first major section of the project. With this conclusion, the serial production of the 2,636 passenger cabins begins seamlessly.” The construction of guest cabins will follow a different timeline and process, as they are typically more complex due to the variety of layouts and features.
Guest staterooms on the Carnival Festivale will range from interior rooms to oceanview and balcony options, as well as luxurious suites. This diversity requires careful planning and design, allowing for potential adjustments before production begins. According to Carnival’s website, the ship will feature innovative staterooms, including the popular Havana staterooms and Cloud 9 options with exclusive spa amenities.
The Carnival Festivale is scheduled to welcome its first guests on May 19, 2027, with a four-night cruise to the Bahamas from Port Canaveral. The ship will offer a variety of itineraries, including visits to popular destinations such as Amber Cove, San Juan, and St. Maarten. Bookings for the inaugural season are now open, ensuring that all accommodations will be ready well in advance of the ship’s debut.
