Sea Legend Shipping, a niche Chinese carrier, has initiated a direct container service linking China with northern Europe via the Northern Sea Route (NSR). The inaugural voyage of the Istanbul Bridge commenced over the weekend, aiming to cover the distance in just 18 days. This new service is expected to become a regular offering during the warmer months, enhancing shipping efficiency for time-sensitive cargo.
Key Route and Service Details
The Istanbul Bridge, which has a capacity of 4,890 TEU, will make several stops along its route, including major ports such as Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg, and Gdansk. This strategic path not only shortens transit times but also allows for quicker delivery cycles, particularly for premium goods like electronics and fashion items.
