Construction Begins on Lahore’s Canal Ship Restaurant
LAHORE – Exciting developments are underway as the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has officially commenced construction on the Canal Ship Restaurant project. This initiative promises to enhance the recreational landscape for both residents and visitors in Lahore. Managing Director Raja Mansoor Ahmed announced the start of construction during a recent site visit, where he was briefed on the project’s progress by key team members.
Project Details and Timeline
The Canal Ship Restaurant is set to be completed within the current financial year, according to PHA officials. The project aims to transform the Lahore Canal by deepening it from 7 feet to 13 feet and widening it to 30 feet. This enhancement is crucial for the establishment of the three-storey restaurant, which will accommodate up to 80 guests at a time. NESPAK has been appointed as the project consultant, ensuring that all technical aspects are meticulously managed. Additionally, the Irrigation Department is involved to guarantee compliance with safety standards.
During his visit, Raja Mansoor Ahmed emphasized that the Ship Restaurant aligns with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision for modern recreational facilities in Punjab. He assured that the necessary machinery and manpower are actively engaged at the site, with a strong commitment to safety and sustainability. The project is being touted as a flagship initiative of the Punjab government, highlighting its importance and the focus on timely completion. The Canal Ship Restaurant is expected to become a premier destination for dining and leisure, enhancing the overall experience along the Lahore Canal.
