Dajin Offshore Partners with Szczecin Shipyard for Wind Project
Dajin Offshore has secured a significant contract worth PLN 47 million (approximately EUR 11 million) with Szczecin Shipyard “Wulkan” to produce components for a major offshore wind initiative in Germany. This collaboration will support the 1.6 GW Nordseecluster project, with Dajin tasked by RWE to deliver 104 monopiles without transition pieces. The Polish shipyard will fabricate at least 40 internal platform sets for the project’s second phase, Nordseecluster B, set to commence production this month.
Production and Future Collaborations
Production at Szczecin Shipyard is expected to begin this month, engaging around 200 workers both directly and indirectly. The partnership between Dajin Offshore and Wulkan is poised to extend beyond this project, as both companies anticipate further collaboration on future offshore wind ventures, particularly in Poland. This aligns with Poland’s ongoing efforts to expand its offshore wind capabilities in the Baltic Sea.
The Nordseecluster B phase will feature 60 Vestas V236-15.0 MW wind turbines, contributing an installed capacity of 900 MW. Meanwhile, the first phase, Nordseecluster A, is currently under construction and is scheduled for commissioning in early 2027. Nordseecluster B is projected to begin commercial operations in 2029. This ambitious project is jointly owned by RWE and Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), marking a significant step in the advancement of renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
