Once operational, it will significantly contribute to the country’s renewable energy goals.

DEME’s new offshore construction vessel to be built in China, delivery in 2028

DEME plans to utilize several vessels from its fleet for this project, including the Green Jade, a floating offshore installation vessel that is notable for being the first of its kind designed and built in Taiwan. Additionally, a rock placement vessel will be employed to carry out the scour protection works, ensuring the stability and longevity of the foundations.

Foundation installation is anticipated to commence in the first half of 2027, pending the final investment decision. This timeline underscores the urgency and importance of advancing Taiwan’s offshore wind capabilities as part of its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
