DP World expands Unifeeder fleet

DP World Welcomes Two New Container Ships to Its Fleet

DP World has expanded its Marine Services fleet by adding two new container ships named Navios Utmost and Navios Unite. Both ships were officially introduced during a special naming ceremony held at the Changhong shipyard in Zhoushan, China. These vessels are part of Unifeeder’s ongoing fleet renewal plan, aiming to modernize the fleet and make shipping more sustainable.

New Routes for Global Supply Chains

The two ships will operate on key international routes. Navios Utmost will serve the Far East Madras Express Service (FME), linking Asian countries to India. Meanwhile, Navios Unite will sail under the Asian Gulf India Service (AGI), focusing on trade between the Gulf region, India, and other Asian markets. These new ships are expected to strengthen supply chain networks across these regions.

Advanced Technology for Fuel Efficiency

Both vessels are Sapphire 5300 type gearless container ships, meaning they do not need their own cranes to load and unload cargo. Their hulls are designed with advanced fuel-saving technology, which helps reduce fuel consumption. This improvement allows the ships to travel long distances more efficiently, using less energy.

The compact size of the vessels makes them highly maneuverable, so they can easily dock at smaller ports, including inland terminals. This feature is a big advantage because it gives DP World more opportunities to expand services to new regions, strengthening its global shipping network.

Focus on Sustainability

Adding these new ships reflects DP World’s commitment to sustainable shipping. Earlier this year, Unifeeder signed long-term contracts for feeder vessels capable of using methanol, a cleaner alternative to traditional marine fuels. The company has also worked with MPC Container Ships to invest in new technologies that further improve energy efficiency.

In addition, Unifeeder recently launched GreenBox, a carbon insetting program designed to help customers reduce the environmental impact of their shipping operations. With solutions like these, DP World is actively working towards decarbonizing global supply chains.

Conclusion

The arrival of Navios Utmost and Navios Unite marks another important step in DP World’s fleet renewal and sustainability efforts. By investing in modern vessels and green technologies, DP World is not only improving shipping services but also helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the maritime industry.

These new ships will play a key role in meeting the demands of a growing global trade network while promoting eco-friendly shipping solutions. DP World’s focus on innovation and sustainability ensures it remains a leader in the maritime industry.
