Dry bulk industry throws support behind Geneva Dry 2025

Geneva Dry 2025: The Premier Commodities Shipping Conference

Preparations are in full swing for the next edition of Geneva Dry, the world’s leading commodities shipping conference, set to take place on April 28-29, 2025, at the Hotel President Wilson. Following the success of the inaugural event, which sold out two weeks in advance, early interest for next year’s gathering has been overwhelming.

High Demand for Delegate Passes and Sponsorships

Keen to secure their spots and take advantage of special hotel discounts, delegates have been quick to purchase passes for the 2025 conference. Sponsors, eager to connect with the largest segment of commercial shipping, are also signing up at a rapid pace. Among the 24 confirmed sponsors are industry giants such as Heidelberg Materials Trading and BPG Shipping, a prominent Ukrainian bulk operator.

Exciting Line-Up of Speakers and Sessions

Organizers have worked diligently to offer a refreshed and dynamic agenda. In addition to staple topics like iron ore, coal, agri-commodities, minor bulks, and dry decarbonization, Geneva Dry 2025 will feature new panels based on attendee feedback. Highlights include a 50-minute session on forward freight agreements chaired by Philippe van den Abeele from Consortium Maritime Trading, and a special chartering spotlight panel. Day Two will kick off with discussions on digital efficiency drivers both at port and at sea, followed by a high-level discussion on electric vehicles and their impact on dry bulk.

Confirmed speakers for the event include:

  • Eman Abdalla, Global Operations and Supply Chain Director at Cargill Ocean Transportation
  • John Michael Radziwill, CEO and Chairman at CTM
  • Karim Coumine, Manager of Chartering for Minor Bulks at Anglo American
  • Khalid Hashim, Managing Director of Precious Shipping
  • Peter Weernink, Chairman of SwissMarine

Mohammed Bin Battal, President of Bahri Dry Bulk, emphasized the unique focus of Geneva Dry: “What distinguishes Geneva Dry from other conventions is its exclusive focus on multiple facets of the dry bulk industry.”

Geopolitics, decarbonisation, and shipping’s future

Support and Interest

INTERCARGO, the global dry bulk association, and SUISSENÉGOCE, representing Swiss commodity traders, have confirmed their support for the event. The Swiss Commodity Trading Association advocates for trading, shipping, banking, insurance, law, and service companies.

As the conference draws near, numerous trading houses, brokers, and industry associations are planning their own side events, and major financial newswires have expressed interest in covering the event. The final week of April is set to position Geneva as the focal point of the shipping world.
