Elomatic Appoints Michael O’Sullivan President of Elomatic Consulting
Elomatic, an international consulting and engineering company, recently announced the appointment of Michael O’Sullivan as the President of Elomatic Consulting Inc. O’Sullivan, who previously served as the Portfolio Director at the Canadian Coast Guard (CCG), brings over 30 years of experience in managing complex marine projects across defense, commercial, and public service sector organizations in Canada and internationally.
Expanding Business in North America
In his new role, O’Sullivan will lead a team of over 30 professionals dedicated to growing Elomatic’s client base within North America. With his extensive experience in international operations, O’Sullivan aims to strengthen customer relations and build Elomatic’s presence within the Canadian and US marine and defense sectors, focusing on both newbuild and retrofit projects.
Teemu Tuomisto, Senior Vice President, Marine, Elomatic, emphasized the strategic importance of North America for the company, particularly in their involvement in the development of the Canadian Coast Guard’s Polar Icebreaker project. Tuomisto expressed confidence in O’Sullivan’s appointment, highlighting his significant experience and network that will further expand Elomatic’s business in the region.

Michael O’Sullivan expressed his excitement in joining the Elomatic team and leading operations in North America. He highlighted Elomatic’s expertise in developing leading icebreaker vessels, positioning them to support shipbuilding strategies in both Canada and the US in the coming years. O’Sullivan is committed to enhancing Elomatic’s presence in the region, strengthening capabilities, and driving overall strategy.
Elomatic Consulting Inc. was established in 2023 to support the Canadian Coast Guard’s Polar Icebreaker project and has since expanded its presence beyond icebreaker projects. The Polar Icebreaker project, a highly complex Polar Class 2 vessel, is scheduled for completion in early 2030, becoming the Coast Guard’s flagship vessel.
