Everllence Secures Major Engine Order from Dynacom Tankers
Everllence has announced a significant contract to supply two 6G70ME-C Mk10.7 engines for two 159,000 dwt crude oil tankers being built for Dynacom Tankers at New Times Shipbuilding in Jiangsu, China. This order marks a milestone as it is the first sale of a 70-bore engine from Everllence’s latest Mk10.7 platform, which was introduced just months ago.
Engine Innovation and Market Response
Bjarne Foldager, Head of Two-Stroke Business at Everllence, highlighted the rapid acceptance of the Mk10.7 platform since its launch in November 2023. The platform currently offers engine bore sizes ranging from 50 to 95, and in 2024 alone, Everllence has received orders for 40 Mk10.7 engines. Foldager expressed optimism about the market’s response, stating, “This year we expanded Mk10.7 options to also include 80- and 95-bore and now we see the market rewarding us with this milestone G70-10.7 order.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to meeting the needs of various stakeholders, including shipyards and engine builders, and expressed confidence that additional orders for the 80- and 95-bore engines will follow.
Susanne Kindt, Senior Vice President of Engineering for the Two-Stroke Business, elaborated on the advantages of the Mk10.7 engine platform. She noted that the G70ME-C10.7 engine features a simplified design that enhances fuel efficiency while providing shipowners with the flexibility to retrofit to dual-fuel options as needed. Kindt believes this innovative design will appeal to various newbuilding segments, particularly Suezmax tankers, container feeders, and bulk carriers ranging from 180,000 to 210,000 dwt. The successful launch of the Mk10.7 platform positions Everllence as a key player in the evolving maritime engine market.
