Fincantieri Strengthens Ties with Indonesian Navy in Strategic Meeting
In a significant move to bolster maritime collaboration, Dario Deste, General Manager of the Naval Vessels Division from Fincantieri today met with Admiral Ali Muhammad, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy at the Indonesian Navy Headquarters in Jakarta. This high-level meeting highlighted the strengthening and robust partnership between Indonesia and the Italian shipbuilding giant.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff and the entire Indonesian Naval Staff, reflecting the strategic importance of the PPA programme (Multipurpose Combat Ship) and the broader relationship with Fincantieri.

Key points of discussion included a detailed progress report on the two PPAs under contract, discussions on the financing and confirmation of the delivery schedule for the two Frigates for Indonesia.
In a move to further cement the close cooperation, the parties scheduled a follow-up meeting for mid-September 2024, coinciding with a further visit of one of the Italian PPA to Jakarta. This visit is expected to reinforce the collaborative efforts and strengthen the future working relationship between Fincantieri and the Indonesian Navy.
