Geneva Dry 2026: A Premier Gathering for the Dry Bulk Shipping Industry

Geneva Dry, the leading annual event for the dry bulk shipping and commodities sectors, has announced its finalized conference agenda ahead of the much-anticipated gathering at the Hotel President Wilson on April 28 and 29, 2026. With just 40 days remaining until the event, organizers report that approximately 250 companies have already registered, indicating a significant increase in delegate interest compared to previous years.

The two-day conference will feature an impressive lineup of shipowners, commodity traders, charterers, analysts, and technology leaders. This year’s edition is particularly timely, as it coincides with major shifts in global commodity flows. Notably, a record 18 prominent charterers will take the stage, highlighting the event’s importance in the industry.

The agenda includes key sessions such as the Commodities Shipping Outlook, Risk Management in Dry Bulk, and a high-impact Digital Dry Hard Talk workshop. New speakers have been confirmed, including Alan Cumming from Trafigura, Filipe Gonzaga of Bryce, Alessandro Massimilla from Quadra Commodities, and Daniel Weiss, GM Shipping Strategy at Vale. The conference will kick off with a welcome address from Delphine Bachmann, State Councillor for Geneva’s Department of Economy and Employment.

Focus on Industry Challenges and Social Impact

The Geneva Dry conference aims to address pressing industry challenges, with discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence in the workforce, the future of fixing, dry decarbonization, and the dynamics of minor bulks, agri-commodities, coal, and iron ore. Organizers have emphasized that the agenda is designed around actionable outcomes rather than mere buzzwords, reflecting the growing demand for practical debate in the sector.

In a notable development, Geneva Dry has partnered with Mercy Ships, a charity dedicated to providing healthcare and training in maritime communities. This collaboration underscores the event’s commitment to social responsibility, offering delegates a tangible way to contribute to maritime social impact initiatives during the conference.

Sam Chambers, a co-organizer of Geneva Dry, stated, “Demand for in-person, practical debate has never been stronger. With 250 companies signed up and an agenda designed around outcomes — not buzzwords — we expect the next edition to be the most focused and actionable Geneva Dry yet.” This partnership with Mercy Ships serves as a reminder that commercial progress and social purpose can align effectively.
