GTT awarded tank design for eight new LNG carriers

GTT Secures Orders for LNG Carrier Tank Designs from Two Korean Shipyards

In the third quarter of 2024, GTT announced the receipt of two major orders from Korean shipyards for the design of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier tanks. These orders, made on behalf of an undisclosed ship-owner, involve the construction of eight new LNG carriers (LNGCs). Four of these vessels will be built by Samsung Heavy Industries, each featuring a total capacity of 174,000 m³ and equipped with the Mark III Flex membrane containment system, a technology developed by GTT. These vessels are expected to be delivered between the second and third quarters of 2028.

The second order, from another Korean shipyard, involves the construction of an additional four LNGCs, each with a capacity of 174,000 m³. These vessels will be fitted with the NO96 series membrane containment system, another advanced solution developed by GTT. Delivery of these ships is anticipated between the second and fourth quarters of 2028.
