The launch of H-ACE is a strategic move by Hanwha Aerospace to strengthen its presence in the AUKUS markets. By utilizing the Geelong facility as a production hub, Hanwha aims to meet the growing demand for defense products across the Indo-Pacific region, driven by rising geopolitical tensions. This initiative is expected to enhance the collaboration between Australia and South Korea, bringing high-tech manufacturing back to the Geelong area and integrating local companies into Hanwha’s global supply chain.
The state-of-the-art facility, spanning approximately 150,000 square meters, is equipped with 11 specialized buildings, including production and assembly plants, a driving test site, and a shooting range. Its strategic location near Melbourne and Avalon Airport offers significant logistical and hiring advantages, positioning Hanwha Aerospace to effectively serve both Australian and allied defense needs.
