Hartree Partners Christens Its Sixth MR Chemical Tanker at Jinglu Shipyard

On September 24, the Chinese shipbuilder Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry Co., Ltd. (Jinglu Shipyard) hosted a naming ceremony for the “WECO ISABELLA,” the sixth MR chemical tanker constructed for Hartree Partners.

Innovative Features of the Vessel

The “WECO ISABELLA” is a state-of-the-art MR chemical tanker designed and built by Jinglu Shipyard. It boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 183.1 meters in length, 32.2 meters in beam, and with a designed draft of 11.0 meters. With 20 cargo holds, this vessel is among the most advanced of its kind globally, capable of transporting various types of cargo simultaneously.

Equipped with eco-friendly technologies such as a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, a desulfurization tower, and a shaft generator, the vessel has significantly reduced emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and carbon dioxide. This not only enhances energy efficiency but also demonstrates the vessel’s commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, the vessel features forward pre-swirl stators and a high-efficiency twisted rudder, further reducing fuel consumption and improving maneuverability.

Industry Recognition and Future-Ready Design

The “WECO ISABELLA” has been recognized with the classification notation for methanol dual-fuel readiness, specifically Methanol Fuel Ready Level 2D (TA, BK, FS, ME, AB), 3 (S). This designation provides the shipowner with flexibility for future adoption of green alternative fuels, setting a new standard for the industry in promoting “green and low-carbon” development.

With its cutting-edge technology and environmentally conscious design, the “WECO ISABELLA” represents a significant step forward in the maritime industry’s efforts towards sustainability and innovation.
