Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry bags order for six AHTS vessels

Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry has announced a significant contract for the construction of six advanced 65-meter anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels. The design and development of these vessels will be overseen by Shanghai Jiahao Marine Engineering Research and Design. Notably, all six vessels will feature electric propulsion systems, enhancing their operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Innovative Features and Capabilities
The new AHTS vessels are designed with cutting-edge technology, including fully rotating propellers, bow and stern thrusters, and a DP-2 dynamic positioning system. These features provide the vessels with a robust towing capacity, enabling them to handle large structures such as offshore drilling platforms and floating production storage and offloading units (FPSOs). Additionally, some of the vessels will be equipped with specialized rescue functions, including firefighting and life-saving equipment, ensuring safety during operations.
Suspected Sabotage Ship’s Anchor Shows Signs of Extreme Damage
Beyond this recent order, Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry has a substantial portfolio, with a total of 82 orders amounting to over 950,000 deadweight tons (dwt). This includes a diverse range of vessels such as 57 general cargo ships, 12 bulk carriers, 11 container ships, and two offshore vessels, with delivery schedules extending into 2028. The company’s commitment to innovation and quality positions it as a key player in the maritime industry, poised for continued growth and development in the coming years.
