Lloyd’s Register (LR) has recently awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) to Oshima Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. for its innovative multi-fuel-ready Ultramax bulk carrier design. This development signifies a significant step towards lower and zero-carbon operations in the maritime industry.

The vessel is equipped to utilize ammonia, methanol, and methane (LNG) with provisions for onboard carbon capture and storage (OCCS).
