Maersk Unveils Largest Logistics Park in the Middle East at Jeddah Islamic Port
A.P. Moller – Maersk, in collaboration with the General Ports Authority of Saudi Arabia (Mawani), has inaugurated the largest Logistics Park in the Middle East at Jeddah Islamic Port. This state-of-the-art facility spans 225,000 square meters and represents a significant milestone in the region’s logistics and services sector. The facility, developed with an investment of $250 million, aims to support Saudi Arabia’s economic activities and enhance the efficiency of supply chains and global trade.
The Maersk Logistics Park is designed to offer integrated logistics solutions, including multi-modal connectivity, temperature-controlled warehousing, and comprehensive distribution services. It caters to a variety of industries such as FMCG, automotive, and pharmaceuticals. Additionally, the facility supports Maersk’s commitment to sustainability, with 70% of its electricity being sourced from solar panels, and the use of electric equipment and trucks to reduce carbon emissions.
Safety and diversity are key priorities at the Logistics Park. The facility incorporates advanced safety features and has established a women’s academy to empower Saudi women in the logistics sector. This initiative aligns with Maersk’s broader goals of promoting inclusion and ensuring a safe working environment while supporting Saudi Vision 2030.
