Navigare Shipping seals deal for four mini-bulkers
Navigare Shipping Expands Fleet with New Charter Deal

Navigare Shipping & Logistics, a prominent operator based in the Faroe Islands, is set to enhance its operations with the acquisition of four minibulkers. The Hojgaard family-led company has entered into a long-term charter agreement with Briese Schiffahrts and Futurum Shipping for the Groot 5200 XL vessels, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable shipping solutions.
Strengthening Operations and Fleet Expansion
Navigare Shipping, which was established in 1966, has been steadily increasing its presence in the northern European market. As part of its growth strategy, the company currently manages a fleet of approximately 15 vessels, all dedicated to transporting goods efficiently. The recent charter deal emphasizes Navigare’s focus on quality and reliability, as stated by the company in a LinkedIn post. They noted that this collaboration would strengthen their commercial ties while reinforcing their commitment to sustainability in shipping.
Northern Lights’ first CO2 transport ship ready for delivery
In addition to the charter agreement, Navigare Shipping has made further investments in its fleet. Last November, the company contracted four new general cargo vessels with a deadweight tonnage (dwt) of 5,600 at Thecla Bodewes Shipyards in the Netherlands. The first of these newbuilds is expected to be delivered in spring 2026, further expanding the company’s capabilities.
Moreover, Navigare has recently acquired the general cargo vessel Helena VG, which was built in 2011. The 3,175 dwt ship will be renamed Hav Sand and is projected to enter service as a self-discharger by July. These developments signify Navigare Shipping’s proactive approach to enhancing its fleet and operational efficiency in the ever-evolving shipping industry.
