Innovative Design and Enhanced Facilities

The first phase of the terminal’s construction will focus on creating a reception center specifically for cruise passengers. This area will include a commercial space, an information point, and a dedicated bus dock. These improvements are designed to streamline the organization of shuttles connecting the port to the center of Motril and facilitate excursions throughout Granada province. The new terminal will not only improve logistics but also elevate the overall visitor experience.

Architecturally, the terminal will be inspired by traditional Andalusian villages, featuring squares, streets, and open spaces that reflect the region’s cultural heritage. Visitors will be greeted by vibrant images of Granada’s tourist attractions, immersing them in the local atmosphere from the moment they disembark. Notable areas within the terminal will include Placeta del Sultán, Villa Blanca, Puerta al Magreb, Puerta de Zoraida, and Puerta de Al-Ándalus, all designed to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the port.

Strategically located next to Playa Cable and within the existing large dock, the new terminal will have the capacity to accommodate up to three cruise ships at once. This expansion is expected to significantly increase the operational capacity of Motril port and strengthen its position as a key stop on Mediterranean cruise routes. With these developments, Motril is poised to become a major player in the cruise tourism sector, attracting more visitors to the beautiful Granada province.
