Noatum acquires Egyptian shipping agency

Expansion of Noatum Maritime into Egypt through Safina Acquisition

Noatum Maritime, a subsidiary of AD Ports Group, has expanded its reach in the Middle East by acquiring a majority stake in the Egyptian shipping company and maritime services provider, Safina. This acquisition aligns with AD Ports Group’s broader strategy for growth in Egypt, which includes recent concession agreements to manage and operate cruise and ro-ro terminals in Safaga, Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, and Sokhna ports.

Safina, a significant player in the Egyptian maritime sector, provides extensive agency and maritime logistics services, particularly catering to the metals, minerals, and fertilizers industries. With its headquarters in Cairo and six additional office locations, Safina serves 15 Egyptian ports, including key ports in the Mediterranean and Red Sea such as Sokhna, Adabiya, Damietta, Port Said, and Alexandria. The company’s robust presence in these regions positions it as a leader in both liner and tramp agency services, as well as transit services through the Suez Canal.

AD Ports Group has announced plans to rebrand Safina as Noatum Maritime Egypt, with the company’s founders retaining a minority stake and continuing to contribute to its growth. This move is expected to strengthen Noatum Maritime’s operations in Egypt, further enhancing its service offerings in the region.
