Noble Corporation Secures Ghana Drillship Contract

Offshore drilling leader Noble Corporation has announced a significant contract win with Amni International Petroleum Development Company for its drillship, the Noble Venturer. This contract, set to commence after the rig’s current obligations, marks a strategic expansion into Ghana’s oil exploration sector. The agreement includes drilling one exploration well over an estimated 55 days at a daily rate of $450,000.
Contract Details and Future Plans
The Noble Venturer is currently engaged in a contract expected to conclude in late 2026 or early 2027. Following this, the drillship will begin its operations in Ghana, collaborating with Tullow Oil from November 2025 until August 2026. After fulfilling its commitments in Ghana, the rig will transition to the US Gulf of Mexico, where it is scheduled to work with Shell starting in the fourth quarter of 2027. This subsequent contract with Shell is set to extend until the third quarter of 2031, further solidifying Noble Corporation’s presence in the offshore drilling market.
This new contract not only highlights Noble Corporation’s operational capabilities but also underscores the growing demand for exploration in Ghana’s oil-rich waters. The collaboration with Amni International is expected to enhance the region’s energy landscape, contributing to both local and international energy needs. As the industry evolves, Noble Corporation remains poised to play a pivotal role in offshore drilling advancements.
