NYK Line Secures Long-Term Charter Contracts for New LNG Carriers with Cheniere

NYK Line, in collaboration with Ocean Yield AS, has recently finalized multiple long-term charter agreements for new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers with Cheniere Marketing International LLP, a subsidiary of Cheniere Energy, Inc., a prominent US LNG producer. These cutting-edge vessels will be constructed at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. in South Korea and are scheduled for delivery starting in 2028.

Cutting-Edge Vessels with Advanced Technology

The new LNG carriers will feature state-of-the-art technology, including a next-generation X-DF2.1 iCER engine and a VCR system. These dual-fuel, low-speed diesel engines will utilize both fuel oil and boil-off gas for propulsion, ensuring efficient and eco-friendly operation. Additionally, the vessels will be equipped with a re-liquefaction system to effectively utilize surplus boil-off gas, enhancing overall performance. With a 200,000 cubic meter capacity membrane-type tank, these vessels will set new standards for efficiency and cost-effective LNG transportation.
