Oceaneering scores $180m in subsea robotics deals with Petrobras

Oceaneering Secures $180M Petrobras Contracts

Oceaneering International, based in Houston, has successfully clinched multiple subsea robotics contracts with Petrobras during the second quarter of 2025. The contracts, awarded to the company’s Brazilian subsidiary, Marine Production Systems do Brasil (MPS), are expected to generate approximately $180 million in revenue. This significant win follows a competitive tender process, highlighting Oceaneering’s strong position in the subsea services market.

Details of the Contracts

The contracts will see Oceaneering provide a range of services, including work-class remotely operated vehicle (ROV) support, specialized tooling packages, and survey services. These services will be deployed aboard various anchor handling and ROV support vessels engaged in Petrobras projects off the coast of Brazil. The scope of work encompasses crucial activities such as inspection, maintenance, repair, and decommissioning, as well as surface and subsea positioning tasks.

In addition to ROV support, Oceaneering will assist with FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) hook-ups, mooring inspections, and pile installations. Each contract is set to last four years, with options for extension, and is anticipated to begin at different times in the third and fourth quarters of 2025, extending into the first quarter of 2026.

Through its Brazilian subsidiary, MPS, Oceaneering operates several facilities, including a center dedicated to ROV operations, survey services, subsea intervention tooling, and engineered solutions. The company also maintains an onshore remote operations center in Macaé and an umbilical manufacturing plant located in Niterói, further enhancing its capabilities in the region.
