OEG Renewables seals five-year bareboat deal for CTV newbuild
OEG Renewables, a part of the offshore energy company OEG Energy based in Aberdeen, is working to strengthen its offshore wind support fleet. The company has signed a deal with Diverse Marine, a shipbuilder on the Isle of Wight, to add a new vessel to its fleet. This vessel, a Chartwell Ambitious Class CTV, will be leased for five years through a bareboat charter agreement.
The new crew transfer vessel (CTV) is designed to carry 24 passengers and will be ready to join the UK fleet in September 2025. The vessel will support a wide range of activities, including offshore wind farm construction and operations and maintenance tasks. This addition is part of OEG Renewables’ ongoing effort to expand its fleet and improve its services in the growing offshore wind industry.
Earlier in the month, OEG Renewables also announced another important order for a CTV. The company placed an order with Strategic Marine, a shipbuilder based in Singapore, to build another vessel. This vessel will be delivered to Taiwan in February 2025 and will help support offshore wind projects in the Asia Pacific region.
Leif Cooper, the marine services director at OEG Renewables, shared that the company is well-prepared to support offshore wind projects across the UK, Europe, and Taiwan. With a fleet of both owned and chartered vessels, OEG Renewables can meet the changing needs of customers in the energy industry. Cooper emphasized that the company is focused on supporting the global energy transition with its growing fleet and services.
OEG Renewables’ commitment to expanding its fleet reflects the company’s strong role in the offshore wind industry and its dedication to helping the world move towards cleaner energy solutions. With these new vessels, OEG Renewables will be able to better serve its customers and contribute to the continued development of renewable energy projects.
