Petrobras begins search for more PSVs

Petrobras Seeks Bids for Supply Vessels

Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil and gas powerhouse, has initiated a tender for the procurement of up to six platform supply vessels (PSVs). Announced on Thursday, this tender is structured under a limited public disclosure format, as noted by Rio de Janeiro-based brokerage WSB Advisors. The vessels will play a crucial role in supporting Petrobras’s hydrocarbon exploration and production efforts.

Tender Details and Contract Structure

The tender process allows Petrobras to select vessels based on the lowest total price offered. Interested parties can submit their bids until May 6, with the contract expected to span 1,460 days. The tender is divided into two distinct lots: the first lot encompasses up to four general cargo PSVs, while the second lot includes up to two multipurpose or fluid PSVs.

Operations for the selected vessels are projected to commence in January 2026, or 180 days following the signing of the contract, whichever is later. This strategic move by Petrobras underscores its commitment to enhancing its operational capabilities in the competitive oil and gas sector, as the company continues to expand its exploration and production activities in Brazil’s offshore regions.
