Petrobras Seeks Bids for 11 Walk-to-Work Vessels

Petrobras, Brazil’s state-owned oil and gas company, has announced an open invitation for vessel owners and operators to submit bids for 11 walk-to-work (W2W) vessels. The tender process includes three separate calls, each with specific requirements for vessel capacity and contract duration. The urgency of these tenders reflects Petrobras’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its offshore operations.

Details of the Tenders

The first tender, which closes today, seeks two vessels capable of accommodating at least 80 personnel. The contract for these vessels spans 730 days, with mobilisation planned between September and December 2025. This initial phase is crucial for Petrobras as it prepares for upcoming offshore projects.

The second tender, set to close on July 18, requests three vessels that can hold between 40 and 60 individuals. This agreement does not have a fixed duration; however, the charter period is anticipated to range from 540 to 1,095 days, with mobilization scheduled between February 2026 and June 2027. This flexibility allows Petrobras to align vessel availability with its operational needs.

The final call for submissions involves six W2W vessels, each with a capacity for 60 crew members. This tender will close on July 23, and the expected contract duration is 730 days, with mobilization planned for July to September 2026. These vessels will play a vital role in supporting Petrobras’s offshore activities during this pivotal period.

In addition to these W2W vessels, Petrobras is also opening a long-term tender for two anchor handlers. These vessels, designed with a 300-tonne bollard pull capability, will be chartered for terms of either 8, 10, or 12 years, starting five years after the contract award. Bids for this tender will be accepted until September 30, further expanding Petrobras’s maritime capabilities.
