Ferry ‘Phivos’ Faces Multiple Operational Issues in 2024-2026

In a series of operational incidents, the ferry ‘Phivos’ has experienced significant mechanical failures affecting its scheduled routes in the Argosaronic Gulf. The most recent incident occurred on February 26, 2026, when the Port Authority of the Argosaronic Gulf received a report from the ferry’s captain regarding a ramp failure. This mechanical issue prevented the ferry from opening its ramp ahead of a scheduled crossing to the port of Aegina. As a result, the Argosaronic Gulf Port Guard, part of the Central Port Authority of Piraeus, prohibited the vessel from sailing until repairs were completed and a certification of repair was provided by the monitoring classification society. Passengers were subsequently assisted in reaching their destinations by the ferry’s owning company.
