Royal Caribbean unveils Legend of the Seas
Royal Caribbean Unveils Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has announced its third Icon Class ship, named Legend of the Seas. Set to enhance the cruise line’s offerings, this new vessel will operate Caribbean and European itineraries. The ship aims to build on the experiences provided by its sister ships, Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas. Legend of the Seas will begin sailing year-round from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, starting in November 2026.
Exciting Itineraries and Features
Legend of the Seas will offer a variety of itineraries for travelers. Guests can choose between 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean voyages. Both options will include stops at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. Before its Caribbean voyages, the ship will embark on 7-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona, beginning in August 2026. These European sailings will explore popular destinations in France, Italy, and Spain.
The Caribbean itineraries will showcase well-known locations, including Aruba, Jamaica, and Curaçao. Each cruise will feature a visit to Perfect Day at CocoCay, ensuring a memorable experience for all guests. Currently under construction in Finland, Legend of the Seas promises a new level of family-friendly vacationing. Like its sister ships, it will boast eight distinct neighborhoods and over 40 dining and drinking venues.

Adventure seekers will find plenty to enjoy, with attractions like Crown’s Edge and Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea. For those looking to relax, the ship will feature seven pools, including Royal Bay and the adults-only Hideaway. Additionally, Surfside, a neighborhood designed for young families, will offer activities and accommodations such as the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse.
Legend of the Seas will also be Royal Caribbean’s fourth LNG-powered ship, incorporating advanced environmental technologies. These innovations include waste heat recovery and shore power connections, aligning with the company’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2035. Further details about the ship’s features will be available on Royal Caribbean’s website soon. Bookings for Legend’s inaugural itineraries will open shortly, with early access for Crown & Anchor Society members on February 20.
