Royal Caribbean’s Newest Ship, Legend of the Seas, Is Coming Next Year
Royal Caribbean Unveils Newest Ship: Legend of the Seas

Royal Caribbean has announced the upcoming launch of its latest cruise ship, Legend of the Seas, which is set to debut in Europe in August 2026. Following its European voyages, the ship will begin Caribbean sailings from Fort Lauderdale in November 2026. The recent float-out ceremony in Europe marks a significant milestone in the ship’s development, promising travelers an exciting new way to experience Royal Caribbean’s offerings.
Europe First, Then the Caribbean
The inaugural voyages of Legend of the Seas will take place in the Western Mediterranean, with Barcelona serving as the homeport. Passengers can look forward to exploring stunning destinations in France, Italy, and Spain, all while enjoying a blend of adventure and sophistication. After its European debut, the ship will transition to the Caribbean, launching a year-round schedule in November 2026. This schedule will feature 6-night Western Caribbean and 8-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, including stops at Royal Caribbean’s acclaimed private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, as well as popular ports like Oranjestad in Aruba, Willemstad in Curacao, and Falmouth in Jamaica.
Eight Neighborhoods, Endless Choices
Similar to its sister ships, Icon of the Seas and Star of the Seas, Legend of the Seas is designed with eight distinct neighborhoods, each offering unique experiences. Families can enjoy Surfside, a dedicated area for young travelers, or opt for the three-story Ultimate Family Townhouse. For adults seeking relaxation, the Hideaway features a suspended infinity pool with breathtaking ocean views. Culinary enthusiasts will have over 40 restaurants and bars to choose from, ensuring a diverse dining experience. Thrill-seekers can challenge themselves at Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, or try Crown’s Edge, an exhilarating combination of a rope course and skywalk that extends over the water. Additionally, the ship will boast seven pools, including Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, and the swim-up bar, Swim & Tonic.
A Legend Built for the Future
Currently under construction in Turku, Finland, Legend of the Seas will be Royal Caribbean’s fourth ship powered by liquefied natural gas. It will feature advanced environmental systems, including waste heat recovery and shore power connections, aligning with Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to achieving a net-zero cruise ship by 2035. This initiative reflects a broader industry trend towards sustainability and environmental responsibility.
