SAAM Acquires Full Control of Intertug in Major Deal

SAAM, a prominent player in towage services across the Americas, has announced a significant expansion of its operations by acquiring a 30% stake in Intertug’s companies in Colombia and Mexico. This move, valued at $30.5 million, grants SAAM complete ownership of these companies, reinforcing its market position in both countries. The acquisition follows SAAM’s earlier purchase of a 70% stake in 2021, which marked its entry into the Colombian market and bolstered its presence in Mexico.
Strategic Expansion and Operational Strength
The recent agreement is part of SAAM’s broader strategy to consolidate its towage operations and enhance its leadership in the Americas. With this acquisition, SAAM aims to streamline its services and improve operational efficiency in the region. The transaction is expected to be finalized within 30 days, pending regulatory approvals for one of the Mexican companies involved.
