Solstad Offshore lands $65m in new vessel contracts

Solstad Offshore Secures $65 Million in Vessel Extensions

Norway’s Solstad Offshore has announced significant new contracts for two of its vessels, totaling $65 million. The company has secured a three-year extension for the anchor handler Normand Turmalina with BRAVA Energia in Brazil, ensuring its operation until early 2029. Additionally, the construction support vessel Normand Superior has had its charter extended by one year to February 2027, following an option exercised by subsea firm Ocean Infinity.

Strengthening Market Position

The latest agreements bolster Solstad Offshore’s portfolio as it continues to enhance its presence in the subsea and offshore support sectors. The Normand Turmalina, launched in 2006, has proven to be a valuable asset for BRAVA Energia, reflecting the ongoing demand for reliable support vessels in the Brazilian market. This extension not only secures employment for the vessel but also strengthens Solstad’s long-term relationship with BRAVA Energia.

In parallel, the Normand Superior, which entered service in 2017, has successfully secured another year under contract with Ocean Infinity. This extension underscores the vessel’s versatility and reliability in the construction support domain. Each of these contracts adds to Solstad Offshore’s backlog, a crucial factor for the company’s growth and stability in a competitive industry.

Earlier this month, Solstad Offshore also announced a four-year bareboat contract for the CSV Normand Commander with Petrobras, further highlighting the company’s strategic moves to expand its operational capabilities. Solstad Maritime, established during Solstad Offshore’s restructuring, holds a 27% stake in this venture, indicating a robust internal framework supporting the company’s ambitions in the offshore sector.
