Swan Defence Secures Contract to Build Naval Training Ship for Oman
Swan Defence and Heavy Industries (SDHI) has announced a significant defence export contract with the Sultanate of Oman to construct a naval training ship for the Royal Navy of Oman. The delivery of this advanced vessel is anticipated within the next 18 months, marking a pivotal moment for Indian shipbuilders in the global naval construction arena.
Details of the Naval Training Ship
The new naval training ship will measure 104.25 meters in length, with a beam of 13.88 meters and a displacement capacity of up to 3,500 tonnes. Designed for comprehensive naval training and maritime operations, the vessel will feature classrooms, training offices, accommodation facilities, and an auditorium. It is capable of training up to 70 officer cadets simultaneously at sea, enhancing the operational readiness of the Royal Navy of Oman.
In addition to its training capabilities, the ship will be equipped with advanced navigation and communication systems. It will also have the capacity to conduct helicopter operations, further expanding its functionality.
